Cameron E. Shackelford grew up in Winter Park. He received his Bachelors of Arts degree from Rollins College and has earned Masters degrees in Computer Resources Management and Space Systems Management from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. He has also earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College, where he graduated with Beta Gamma Sigma honors and the class Leadership Award. His Juris Doctorate degree was awarded by the Rutgers University School of Law in New Jersey.
Mr. Shackelford served for twenty years in the U.S. Air Force, attaining the rank of lieutenant colonel with assignments devoted to space and flight operations. He retired as a Command Pilot with over 3100 hours of multiengine jet time in a variety of aircraft, most notably the T-39 Sabreliner, C-21A Learjet, and the C-141B Starlifter. He concluded his distinguished career of service as the Director of Operations for Air Mobility Command’s operational test and evaluation squadron. He is a graduate of the Air Command and Staff College and the Air War College.
Mr. Shackelford concentrates his practice in the field of aviation law but maintains a professional interest in the evolving field of space law. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar, the Orange County Bar Association, and the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association. He has been admitted to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and all state courts within the State of Florida. His pro bono activities are focused on serving the needs of military veterans.
Mr. Shackelford and his wife, Laura, have two children. His personal interests include music, golf, and travel.
